Club Rules

1.       Shall be known as the Glossop Amateur Swimming Club and shall consist of President, Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and Committee of at least 8. 
Five to form a quorum.  The Annual General Meeting will be held in January or February.  It will be affiliated to ASA East Midland Region, D.A.S.A.,
M. & D.S.W.P.A. and R.L.S.S.

2.       The object of the Swimming Club is to teach and improve swimming and Life Saving and all members must agree to abide by the rules of the Club.

3.       All members must respect and protect the Swimming Bath and all fittings etc.

4.       All members must obey the instructors on all matters of teaching and training on Club nights.

5.       Committee members will be responsible for all members behaviour and ensuring that Club nights are properly conducted.

6.       Any misbehaviour or failure to abide by rules will result in a period of suspension

7.       Club nights will be divided into three sessions: -

A)      Learners (Potters)

B)      Intermediate (Jewels)

C)      Advanced (Squad)

          Members will belong to one of these Groups and on Improvement move up.  This will enable all members to have the benefit of instructions.

          Membership will be opened at various times of the year deemed by the committee, usually when pool spaces during sessions appear to be available.  Membership is open to 5 year olds and over and 4 year olds on production of a valid NPTS award level 2

8.       Arrange fixtures with other Clubs in the area.

9.       Trophies: most of the club trophies to be competed for at the Annual Gala in October and remainder during the year.

          Entry to the Annual Gals is open to all members who have attended 20 sessions (if in Jewels/Squad) or 10 Sessions (in Potters) in a year (Oct>Sept). 
A session is defined as a club session or a gala representing GASC.
